Evie's Brew
Golden Tea
I created the golden tea about 3 years ago. I had already been diagnosed with a severe gluten intolerance about three years prior and still had some lingering gut issues and inflammation. After some time, I realized that my all-time favorite fruit-pineapple would soothe my stomach discomfort. After some investigating I realized pineapple has so many health benefits including the benefit of relieving inflammation.
At first the golden tea was just brewed pineapple and water. Nothing special and although still good, definitely not yummy. Over time, I decided to perfect a recipe. It started with the obvious adding some raw unfiltered honey for a bit of sweetness. Next, came the cinnamon and the rest of the ingredients. All for immune support, anti-inflammation and digestion support.
Now, what makes this extra special, is once the pineapple and all the ingredients have brewed for several hours, I take the extra mile and pass the pineapple skin (don't worry, the pineapple's are thoroughly cleaned before hand) through a juicer machine to get all the good nutrients pineapple has to offer. Hence, the separation that occurs within the tea.
The lovely thing about this tea, is that it can be reheated to be drunk as a hot tea for those cold nights or to help combat an oncoming cold.
Ingredients: Water, Pineapple, Raw honey, Ginger, Turmeric, Ground peppercorn, Whole cloves, Bay leaves

Gluten-free Baked goods
As mentioned, I didn't choose the gluten free life. After many months of doctor appointments and no direction I had to undergo an entire lifestyle change. Believe it or not, not only do I react to gluten, but also seed oils, which makes dining at restaurants daunting. So, yes I cook a lot, like everyday. But, I also have a sweet tooth, which means I bake often and I am always experimenting to perfect my baked goods.
I bake to order:
All Gluten-free, dairy free upon request:

Garden Fresh
I decided to start learning how to garden the year covid hit. I had some time on my hands and started with indoor plants. Once I managed to keep some of those alive, I tried my hand with herbs and so on.
My backyard garden is gated and currently has 4 large garden beds, 1 small garden bed and a variety of planters and grow-bags. On top of all of this I have a beautiful greenhouse to house all my seedlings and temperamental plants.
I grow seasonally like any gardener. In my garden I currently have a variety of herbs, and chili. Cucumbers and watermelons are still having their go, along with tomatoes. Tomatillos are a must almost all year round as they are a staple in my homemade salsas. Spinach, carrots, leeks and arugula are newly sprouted this season.
I grow everything by my own two hands with seeds. I tend to the soil and add my own homemade compost. I use only organic materials and never use harmful pesticides. If I need to get certain critters away I always lean into natural ways that work with nature instead of against it. For example, cinnamon is great at repelling ants and Epsom salt is great at repelling slugs. Feel at ease that these plants are my pride and joy and well taken care of.
My husband cannot get enough of my homemade garden fresh salsa. As my tomatoes and tomatillos keep giving, I keep on making.
Keep updated through here or on my socials for what is available.
Ingredients for salsa: Tomato, Tomatillo, Garlic, Chili, Oregano, Celtic Salt
